“ARTCONVENTIONAL, born as art event and riqualification intervent, makes us reflect on the real meaning of urban art. In the late years there has been a progressive approach of street art to the art world that produced a confused interpretation from the audience: the wonder is if the street artist is one who only ever use the street as place of expression or if an artist who works in his study can suddenly be called urban because decides to do it outside. And then, the word street fall away if a street artist enter in the gallery ? The event aims to confuse the cards in the art world, who continually seeks to canalize the creative energies in the direction of the market, and to emphasize the importance of these energies, which if conveyed in urban areas, may become useful for the city. To do this we decided to bring together on a wall artists who come from different backgrounds than street art and urban artists. That’s how we intend to promote the will to match art with the city, as the architecture did for thousands of years.The selected artists, herald of heterogeneous expressive ways gathered under the same surface, represent the different creative wills that are going to deposit on the city. So Art In The Street and not “of” the street, where the road element is direct, inspirational, open to all; not an abstract concept at the mercy of critical judgments or economic.
